Antioch University New England's master's degree, Clinical Mental Health Counseling program has successfully met requirements for accreditation by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
CACREP, a national independent accrediting agency for programs that prepare individuals to enter the counseling profession, is recognized by the Council for Higher Education. Earning CACREP accreditation is a rigorous multi-step process that includes conducting a comprehensive self evaluation against CACREP standards, an on-site visit and report by a CACREP accreditation team, an institutional response to the CACREP team report, and a decision to accredit by the CACREP board.

AUNE Student Receives Third U.S. Congressional Progressive Caucus Fellowship
Antioch University New England's Environmental Advocacy and Organizing Program (EAOP) is pleased to announce that master's candidate Christeallia Amorosi will serve as the 2009 U.S. Congressional Progressive Caucus fellow. In 2007, Antioch University New England's advocacy program launched this first-of-its-kind fellowship in cooperation with the seventy-two-member U.S. Congressional Progressive Caucus. The fellowship allows one Antioch University New England EAOP student or graduate to work in Washington, D.C. for the caucus and its members every summer.

2009 Distinguished Psychologist Award Presented
The Department of Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England presented its 2009 Distinguished Psychologist Award to Dr. Laurie Guidry. Laurie, who graduated from Antioch University New England in 2000, directs an innovative, evolving statewide program for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health for individuals with co-occurring chronic mental illness and problematic sexual behaviors and/or sexual offending behaviors. It has operated for nine years and is the only program like it in the country.

NHBSR presents the Cornerstone Award every year at its spring conference to a company, organization, or individual that exemplifies the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and promotes the concepts of CSR to the greater business community within the state of New Hampshire. Global Warming and Tibet
John Ackerly, president of the Washington, D.C.- based International Campaign for Tibet, will speak at Antioch University New England about the impacts of global warming on one of the planet's most sensitive eco-systems, the Tibetan Plateau, on April 16 at 7 p.m. Ackerly will explore the environmental and social-justice impacts of global warming on Tibet, the effect it has on farmers and nomads, and the political repression that hinders Tibetans from addressing these crucial issues.

Student Helps The Loon Preservation Committee Get Grant
Thanks to a grant written by Antioch University New England graduate Jill Rolph, the Loon Preservation Committee of Moultonborough, New Hampshire hosted multiple volunteer training sessions across the state this past summer. The committee uses citizen scientist volunteers to collect field data and to educate local residents. The grant helps ensure that these volunteers are consistently trained so that the data they collect is accurate, reliable, and uniform.

Green MBA and O&M department Host Net Impact Chapter
The Antioch University New England Department of Organization & Management and its Green MBA program recently launched a new chapter of Net Impact. Net Impact is an international nonprofit organization whose mission is to make a positive impact on society by growing and strengthening a community of new business leaders. The organization offers its 10,000 plus members programs that educate, equip, and inspire them to make a tangible difference in their universities, organizations, and communities.

Creating Viable Charter Schools in New Hampshire
Antioch University New England (AUNE) will host a panel of veteran New Hampshire charter school experts on October 25 at 7pm. New Hampshire legislator John B. Hunt and New Hampshire Department of Education's Roberta Tenney will join AUNE faculty member Dr. Tom Julius and Surry Charter School principal Matora Fiorey to discuss the promising, but challenging task of creating viable charter schools in the granite state.
